Summary:
Quick Learn is a learning management system but is much simpler than other Learning management systems. Other learning management systems are bulky and designed for heavy content and lengthier courses. Our learning management system resolves around few simple principles which also acts as constraints for us while building features. Here are our core principles/contraints.
- The content in Quick Learn will ONLY be rich text of small length built with Markdown editor. This is inspired from Newsshort app, where they give you bite size news only. We will also focus on small lessons only and will refrain to build a bloated learning management system.
- These small learning topics, we are calling it “Lessons”. A Lesson can be read within 2-3 mins.
- We will send users “Lesson of the Day”, in morning and one in evening. This lesson is small Learning Nugget with topic like “Git Stash Command”. You should be able to read and understand this topic with 1-2 minutes only.
- The idea is to remind people about various topics in small lessons or Nuggets.
This means users will be able to read 2 small lessons per day by just spending 10-15 mins max.
Since there are lot of ways for people to learn online ie. Blog, Videos, Books, Youtube, we are not trying to replicate that here. Those all need effort from students and this require focus and time for longer duration and consistency. This can work for beginner level people and experienced people know where to go for their learning. We are focused on daily consistency and that users do not need to spend much time to learn/revise a lesson. Our system works more like a reminder system rather than actual learning system.
Bigger Picture: We will open Quick Learn to public and integrate with Best Talent. We right now have 10,000+ candidates in Quick Recruit and this can be used for them.
Problem we are solving
- All other formats of learning or courses have very low completion rate and even if people learn those they rarely revise things and they keep forgetting what they learned. Our lessons require users to spend 2-3 mins only and we give importance to repetition rather than consuming more and more content endlessly.
- Every organization needs some kind of knowledge base. These bite sized lessons can also work as Knowledge bases in some cases.
- Sometimes you need to onboard people, lets say in HR and you need to tell them how Keka works. You can automate this with Quick Learn’s bite sized lessons. Therefore it can be used to onboard new member in a team, or project also.
Technical Architecture
- This will be a multi-tenent application.
